Climate change is regularly discussed. It’s mentioned on the news, by politicians and at numerous conferences around the world. Often, that discussion centres on the implications for mankind. Will sea levels continue to rise? How will we adapt?

There seems to be far less consideration of the impact on the other animals that we share this planet with. Some of them will be forced to adapt too. Reading environmental news reports, it seems clear that some animals simply won’t be able to react successfully. They may struggle as a result. Do they face any sort of future at all?

It seems to me that part of our role should be to help to protect animals. Right now, that certainly means trying to limit the worst impacts of climate change. Do we have enough information about the damage that may be caused? This seems unclear, although we certainly have some idea about what to expect.
